What are the six articles of faith in Islam?
A common Sunni summary of iman describes six articles of faith: belief in Allah, His angels, His revealed books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree. This summary is associated with the well-known Hadith of Jibril and brings several core beliefs into one beginner-friendly framework.
1. Belief in Allah
Muslims believe Allah is one, without partner, and alone is worthy of worship. Tawhid is the foundation that gives the other articles of faith their context.

Muslims believe angels are part of the unseen creation of Allah and carry out roles assigned to them by Him. Belief in angels is part of accepting the unseen realities taught through revelation.
3. Belief in the revealed books
Muslims believe Allah sent revelation to guide humanity. This includes earlier revealed scriptures and the Quran, which Muslims believe is the final revealed scripture.

Muslims believe Allah sent prophets and messengers to guide people, including Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Muslims believe Muhammad is the final prophet.
5. Belief in the Last Day
Muslims believe in resurrection, judgment, and the Hereafter. This connects faith to accountability, moral responsibility, hope, and the consequences of human choices.
6. Belief in divine decree
Belief in divine decree means affirming Allah's knowledge, will, and sovereignty while human beings remain morally responsible for their choices. Detailed theological discussions go beyond a short beginner overview.
How do these beliefs connect to practice?
Islamic belief is not meant to remain abstract. It shapes Salah, Dua, trust, gratitude, patience, ethical choices, and the way a Muslim understands responsibility. Faith Companion connects these ideas to worship and review instead of leaving them as isolated definitions.
